Become a Quest Craft Youth Co-Designer!
Are you our next youth co-designer? We’re looking for students who:
- Are in grades 4-12 at the time of applying
- Enjoy inventing characters and the magical worlds they live in
- Love storytelling, being creative, and drawing
- Have opinions about what makes characters cool, fair, brave, funny, or interesting
- Want to see more stories that reflect their culture, language, or experiences
- Are comfortable speaking and recording their thoughts on Zoom, with adult support
- No previous tabletop role-playing experience required!
Note: Parents/guardians must be present for the interview and provide consent.
What Youth Co-Designers Do
During this project, you will:
- Join a Zoom interview with a parent/guardian present. (Flexible scheduling available after school or on weekends).
- Answer fun creative questions like:
- What makes a character special?
- What do they struggle with?
- What would surprise other people about them?
- Share ideas about cultural traditions, folklore, or lived experiences you’d like to see in a story - Then, Quest Craft may draft a short story or character profile based on your idea
- You and your parent/guardian will get a sneak peek and give feedback to help us make it awesome
- You’ll record a short video (30+ seconds) that will introduce your game to all the kids who will play it on Quest Craft - Youth Co-Designers will also get a special surprise thank-you gift from Quest Craft for being a part of the adventure!
Parent Consent & Content Use
Parents/guardians must provide written consent for:
- Student participation in the Zoom session and recording
- Quest Craft to use the student’s ideas, characters, and story contributions in Quest Craft materials (including digital quests, curriculum, website, and promotional content)
- Use of the recorded video (or clips) for educational and promotional purposes

Become a Quest Craft Adult Co-Designer!
Are you interested in creating culturally inclusive quests that support social-emotional learning, academic alignment, literacy, enrichment blocks, advisory, or after‑school programming? We’re looking for co-designers who:
- Are educators, librarians, counselors, school leaders, or youth development specialists for grades 4-12
- Love storytelling, being creative, and finding new ways to engage students
- Have opinions about what topics your students will find memorable and fun
- Want to see more stories that reflect diverse cultures, languages, or experiences
- Bring energy and enthusiasm to collaborative storytelling experiences for their students
- No previous experience required, but you are excited to learn how to lead role-playing games
What Adult Co-Designers Do
During this project, you will:
- Join one-on-one Zoom interviews to discuss quest topics that align to classroom standards or needs (Flexible scheduling available after school or on weekends).
- Provide review and feedback on the story drafts that Quest Craft creates.
- Receive “game master” training to lead role-playing games for students. (As needed, depending on individual gaming experience).
- Skills needed include managing game flow, pacing, and group dynamics while maintaining an inclusive environment for students to feel safe, heard, and encouraged. - Host game sessions in student settings
- Provide feedback after sessions about the quest’s in-game mechanics, student engagement, and themes. Provide suggestions or anecdotes to help improve quests and the student experience.
- Time commitment is flexible depending on availability and individual needs.
